LRWA Board of Directors Meetings - the third Monday of each month. Meeting location - Lee Safety Complex at 7 pm.
May 15, 2008 - Training for 2008 Water Quality sampling volunteers. Two hours of hands-on training using the sampling instruments. Call 659-9363 to volunteer or ask questions. Training location is the Epping Fire Station on Route 27. Training is from 6 pm to 8 pm.
May 29, 2008 and June 2 - Training for Streamwalk 2008 Volunteers. Attend one of the two training sessions. Location is the Epping Fire Station on Route 27. Contact LRWA at 659-9363 to volunteer.
June 7 - Celebrate National River Cleanup Week! River Clean Up at Wadleigh Falls in Lee. Meet at the bridge on Rt. 152 at 9 am. Bring gloves to pick up trash and cutting tools to cut down Japanese Knotweed, an invasive species that has been taking over this lovely site.
June 9 - Dragonfly Workshop. Come learn how to identify these lovely creatures in all stages of life. Pamela Hunt of the NH Audubon will lead the session. Two hours indoors followed by two hours outside on the Lamprey River looking for signs of dragonflies. Field book included with the session fee of $30. June, July and August - Streamwalk volunteers will be out on the Lamprey River conducting an inventory of the river's health. For each segment of river that a volunteer signs up for they can expect to be out about three hours.
